I have just completed my first walk of the year, Pen-y-Ghent.
Though it is the smallest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks it was most definitely a challenge today.
With the cold January weather the hill was covered in a blanket of snow and, in the shade, sheets of ice.
I thought the worst was over when I climbed up the steep rock face, then I started the descent and almost fell on my bottom a zillion times.
Despite the slipping and the sliding, it was a great day out and a pretty good workout. My abs are totally feeling it right now.
The views are also completely stunning and definitely worth the climb.
I’d love to get a few more walks in this year, potentially do the full three peaks again. If you know any good ones then please let me know in the comment section below.
I am going to get into my comfiest PJs and head to my warm and cosy bed for a very long snooze. Hope you enjoy the pictures...
