6 Reasons to Love Christmas

So here is day 4 of my FIRST EVER BLOGMAS! Woooooooo! And since this whole thing is about Christmas, what better thing to write about than some of the reasons I love Christmas? So pop on your slippers, snuggle up under a blanket and make sure you have a hot chocolate to hand.

1. Christmas Markets
Head on down to your nearest christmas markets and treat yoself to a bratwurst. Yes, they’ve overcrowded and yes, they can be a little pricey. But they are so gosh darn festive. The stalls are full of cute christmas paraphernalia, there’s delicious smells wafting through the air and what better way to warm up then with a cup of hot chocolate or a mulled wine?

2. Christmas Food
Okay, let’s all admit that food is something we look forward to the most. There’s the food from the markets as mentioned above. There’s tonnes of boxes of chocolates scattered all over the house and it’s suddenly perfectly acceptable to eat chocolate any time of day (it’s the holidays!). Then there’s the big momma. The one we’ve been waiting for….Christmas dinner! The mother of all Sunday roasts!

3. Christmas Drink
So this is only my second year of drinking hot chocolate but I am now a woman obsessed. Moving a 5 minute walk from a Costa Coffee is having a negative effect on my bank balance and my waistline. But OMG the seasonal flavours are totally worth it.

4. Christmas Movies
There is no such thing as watching Elf too many times. Or Home Alone. Or Miracle on 34th Street. Or Bad Santa. Hell, maybe even Die Hard. Actually, there is such a thing as watching them too many times, but the good thing is there’s so many different ones now you can mix it up a little each year. Apart from Elf. You have to watch that every year.

5. Christmas Holidays
If you’re lucky you may get Christmas off. This year I get 11 whole days off work! That’s 11 days of not answering emails, not presenting and not getting public transport in rush hour. Instead I get to spend my days overeating and seeing family.

6. Christmas Reunion
My immediate family all live in different cities. We all get together now and then for a weekend, but never much longer really. My favourite thing, over the chocolate and movies, is to spend a prolonged amount of time with family. As well as visiting friends. Cheesy but true.

What are your favourite things about Christmas?

  1. Yes yes and yes and yes! Everything here is exactly what we love too! Especially Christmas food ;) Happy Blogmas!
